I've been back from Design Camp for three weeks now and am finally getting around to posting about it! Better late than never is my motto lately. First of all, I have to say that meeting Tobi was such a pleasure. She was delightfully genuine and so open and willing to share all of her design "secrets", which was really refreshing.
We stayed at The Peabody Hotel along the Arkansas River in Little Rock where each morning began with a hot pink Hummer limo ride to camp. It made us giggle a little, but it was fun nonetheless!
Tobi's office was just as you would expect. Colorful, warm, and fun! I loved hearing about her organization secrets. Most of her fabric swatches are organized in see-through drawers by color, and each of the swatches has to be "Tobi approved" before it lands in the drawers to be used for a future project.
And then all of the swatches and floor plans for a project are organized in linen boxes by client.
The office was so colorful, but I have to say the bathrooms were my favorite. Of course I didn't take any photos, but each of the bathrooms was covered in a different, graphic wallpaper. Too cute!
A cozy, blue seating area in the front lobby.
The pink room is Tobi's personal office. The ceiling was painted a really soft blue that almost matched the blue in the painting on the wall. I never would've thought of mixing pink walls with a blue ceiling, but it was magical.
This is the art gallery where class was held everyday. One of the best parts of camp was meeting so many lovely women from all across the country who were all equally designed obsessed. Lots of creativity running around these parts!
I had the best time and hope to make it back for another camp someday (post baby) provided that I'm able to escape! Thanks again, Tobi and Team! xoxo, Lindsey
